WWII in color

My sister visited the concentration camp, Auschwitz, while in Europe one summer.  She told me afterwards that she was surprised, seeing it in color.  It made it tremendously more real.

Photos were released earlier this month of other WWII scenes in color. Anyone else reminded of The Giver?  Seeing something in color for the first time and not really understanding how much more powerful and real the images were.

On the night of October 14 1940, a bomb penetrated the road and exploded in Balham Underground station, killing 68 people. A No 88 bus traveling in black-out conditions then fell into the crater.  Read more
